Emergency Department

• ED has undergone periodic renovation and maintains a modern appearance
• Broad community patient pathology includes cardiac, geriatric, medical, orthopedic, and pediatric patients with minimal trauma
• High acuity level with approximately 28% of emergency patients admitted providing for 67% of the hospital’s total admissions
• Dedicated, well-trained and experienced emergency nurses
• 12-room department is situated in a functional layout that includes two nurses stations; an additional 3 rooms are available in the evening
• Currently under a 13 million dollar renovation project, expanding to 24 rooms with a dedicated Fast Track

Urgent Care

• The Urgent Care Center located at Citizens Ambulatory Care Center in nearby New Kensington is also staffed by the Alle-Kiski team and is open 10 hours per day
• 16,000 patients are treated in the urgent care annually
