Emergency Department

  • Efficient department has a U-shaped configuration with a central nurses station; there are 18 beds and a 10 bed Fast Track area
  • Supportive, high-quality nursing staff is well-credentialed
  • Lab and x-ray are located adjacent to the ED and have quick turnaround times; lab uses a tube system; ultrasound 24 hours/day (Monday-Thursday and on call weekends; CT is available 24 hours/day
  • Emergency physicians do not write admitting orders or respond to codes
  • Chart dictation via transcription is available 24 hours per day
  • Planned renovation is underway and will provide for 26 rooms.  18 in the main ED and 8 in the fast track
