Dr. Dale Carrison serves as the Las Vegas Regional Medical Director as well as the Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. He is also the Professor and Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Nevada School of Medicine.
Dr. Carrison's extensive medical background includes being the Medical Director for the Clark County Fire Department, the Medical Director for Mercy Air Aeromedical Transport in Clark County, Nevada, Medical Director for the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners, Medical Director for the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and a Tactical Physician for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's SWAT Team. He is an editorial Board Member of the International Trauma, Anesthesia and Critical Care Society. Dr. Carrison serves as the Chairman of the Nevada Homeland Security Commission by appointment of the Governor of the State of Nevada. He is a medical reviewer for Health Insight, the Nevada Peer Review in Las Vegas. He has been the Regional Clinical Coordinator for the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, CA, and the Medical Director for Emergency Medical Services for the Lake Mead Recreational Area and National Park Services in Death Valley, California.
Dr. Carrison is also on staff at St. Rose Dominican Hospitals in Henderson, Nevada. During his residency, he was a staff emergency medicine physician at Gotlieb Hospital in Melrose Park, Illinois, Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and Westlake Community Center in Melrose Park, Illinois.
Dr. Carrison is a lifetime Fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine Physicians. He is also a member of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Medicine Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association.
Dr. Carrison is residency-trained and board-certified in Emergency Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from California State University in San Bernardino, California, and earned his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. Dr. Carrison performed his rotating internship at Flint Osteopathic Hospital in Flint, Michigan, and his Emergency Medicine Residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
