Jim Augustine Named Director at Mercy Hospital Anderson Emergency Department

Emergency Medicine Physicians is pleased to announce that James J. Augustine, MD, FACEP, will serve as Director at Mercy Hospital Anderson ED in Cincinnati, Ohio effective July 1, 2010.
Dr. Augustine currently serves as Director of Clinical Operations for Emergency Medicine Physicians where he provides analysis and solutions to Emergency Departments to help improve design, throughput, and overall efficiency.
Dr. Augustine serves as Chair for the Professional Technical Advisory Committee of The Joint Commission, and as a member of its' Board of Commissioners. He is Vice President of the ED Benchmarking Alliance and is the Executive Editor for the journal ED Management. Jim Augustine has served for years with Ohio Fire and EMS agencies, and as the first Chair of the Ohio EMS Board. He continues to serve as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Wright State University.
Dr. Augustine is a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and a Fellow in the American College of Emergency Physicians. For the last 18 years, Dr Augustine has been a member of ACEP committees overseeing national Emergency Medical Services, Quality Improvement, Benchmarking & Best Practices, and Disaster Preparation. Jim Augustine holds a Bachelor's degree from Ohio State University where he graduated cum laude and a Doctorate of Medicine from Wright State University School of Medicine. He performed an integrated residency in Emergency Medicine at Wright State University School of Medicine.
