Kevin M. Klauer DO, FACEP
Chief Medical Officer

What is one thing most people don't know about you?
I am an avid motorcyclist
Describe one of the most rewarding experiences you've had in the ER.
Not long ago, I cared for a patient with multiple trauma, struck by an industrial dumpster. He was alert and oriented, but had mid face instability with a Le Forte II fracture and blood in his airway. He had chest trauma including pulmonary contusions, a hemothorax and traumatic aortic injury. Following a surgical airway, cricothyroidotomy, chest tube thoracostomy and other resuscitative treatments, he was transferred to a level I trauma center.
That wasn't my most rewarding experience. Treating him for a viral URI a few months ago was!
Describe your ideal vacation.
Time with my family on the beach with a little extra time devoted to work to avoid getting behind.
If you could visit any location in the world, where would it be?
Australia
What person has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
My father. By watching him, I learned dedication, drive and learned to hear yes when people are saying no.
