EMP's Quality Assurance Program Delivers the Best in Emergency Medicine
At EMP, we strive to provide the best in emergency medicine to our patients. To achieve this goal, we have a comprehensive Quality Assurance program that’s designed to improve performance and patient satisfaction.
- EMP's Quality Assurance program includes:
- Monthly reports at each institution
- Comprehensive reports that are shared between institutions
- Review of patients that return to the ED within 48 hours for the same problem
- Review of deaths in the ED and within 24 hours after admission
- Review of cases where the patient leaves against medical advice
- Identification of significant miss rates that compare the patient’s discharge diagnosis to the emergency department diagnosis for all admitted patients
- Monthly and annual reviews of particular chief complaints or diagnoses, and x-ray discrepancies
Our Continuous Quality Improvement program is yet another way we provide excellent care for your institution’s patients. CQI consists of regular focus studies that review our care on specific groups of patients, including efficiency and appropriateness of care. The studies provide for the implementation of clinical pathways in light of a problem area, and for the post implementation assessment of our improvement in that area.
