Thomas R Westenberger DO

Staff Physician

Although Thomas Westenberger has been an Emergency Physician for 22 years, he has been a volunteer fire fighter for much longer. As a third generation fireman he recalls his father taking him down to the local fire hall in northern New Jersey in the mid 1960's. His involvement continued throughout his teenage years as a junior fire fighter in this hometown, Boonton, New Jersey. His involvement continued throughout college and even during medical school in Lewisburg, WV.

Since moving to his current location he has been an active member of the Southern York County Forest Fire Crew. The organization is involved in wildfire suppression in South Central PA and Maryland. Their main response area is for the Michaux State Forest in Adams County, PA. The crew is active in providing for suppression at the Gettysburg Civil war reenactments yearly.

In 2000, Tom was part of the Pennsylvania Fire Crew that was flow to the Montana/Idaho border; he spent 2 weeks there. The highlight of the detail was being airlifted by helicopter to the mountain top line construction and fire suppression.

Tom resides in Loganville, PA with his wife and three children. Current interest are playing squash, ice hockey and outdoor sports. He also has coached high school boys lacrosse for the past 5 years.
