Vijay Trisal MD
My motivation to work as an emergency physician was after my father's sudden death involving a car accident. I had just finished my oncology fellowship and his loss developed a sudden appreciation and need in me for emergency medicine. My family, particularly my father, has been my motivation and inspiration to be compassionate, caring and a good listener. My wife, who I've been married to for 29 years, is my strength. She has a master's degree in chemistry and a computer science degree from the University of Pittsburgh. My son, who is my best friend is at Wharton Business School/University of Pennsylvania perusing his MBA/MD program and is being nurtured by the legendry Warren Buffet. He is on the executive board of the Warren Buffet/Wharton Business club.
I try to keep up and am guided into expanding my knowledge and skills by my colleagues I work with. I continue to be motivated, compassionate and caring. I have practiced emergency medicine in three different continents for the past 18 years; East Africa being the most humbling experience with HIV, malnutrition and tropical diseases.
Vijay Trisal, MBBS, MD received his MBBS from Medical College Srinagar (UK). He completed his internal medicine residency at Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his fellowship in oncology at Allegheny General Hospital/Medical College of Pennsylvania.
